![]() ![]() Homer and Hesiod are credited to have been the first poets to write their epics down, but they were products of this tradition. Before the 8th century BC, all the mythology of the area was passed on through oral tradition. The Greek myths had been told for hundreds of years before they were written down. Calliope and her sisters were often called upon to ensure that poems and songs were not only written with inspiration, but also retold with accuracy. The Muses were often said to be the daughters of Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory. Eurydice, however, had not yet stepped through the gate, so she was lost to him forever. The typically stoic Hades was so moved by the playing that he agreed to release Eurydice as long as Orpheus could lead her out of the Underworld without looking back at her.Īs Orpheus stepped through into the world of the living, he turned around to celebrate his victory. He was nearly successful, thanks to the power of his music. When his beloved wife Eurydice was killed on their wedding day, Orpheus traveled to the land of the dead in an attempt to bring her back. The most famous story of the musician was his descent into the Underworld. His music was so powerful that it could tame savage beasts, cause the rocks and trees to dance, and drown out the call of the Sirens. ![]() He was said to have been the greatest poet and musician to ever live. Orpheus, however, was Calliope’s most famous child. Their son Linus was said to have been the first writer to rework Phoenician letters into Greek. The king died with the children were quite young, however. The most famous story of Calliope regards her son, Orpheus.Ĭalliope married a human king, Oeagrus of Thrace, and had two sons. He would invite the Muse to speak through him, essentially making him a conduit for the goddess to speak directly to his readers. Occasionally, the writer would ask for more than inspiration from Calliope. The poet would ask the Muse to inspire his words to be both beautiful and accurate. It was customary for the writers of epic poetry to invoke Calliope at the beginning of a work. ![]() As such, she is one of the most frequently invoked goddesses in classical literature. Later, however, they became specialists and each was thought to influence a specific type of art, thought, or literature.Ĭalliope was the muse of epic poetry who gave inspiration to writers and singers. In early Greek mythology, the Muses worked as a group. These goddesses were sisters and served as the sources of inspiration and knowledge for artists, historians, philosophers, and writers. The Muse CalliopeĬalliope was one of the nine Muses, Mousai in Greek. By inspiring singing and being linked to the goddess of memory, Calliope could help bards remember thousands of lines of poetry long before the written word became common. The Muses existed not only to inspire greatness, but to aid in memory as well. Under the influence of his mother, the famous singer had the power to sway even Hades with his songs. Her name was invoked by writers from Homer to Ovid to inspire both beauty and accuracy in their words.Ĭalliope was also the mother of Greece’s most famous musician, Orpheus. They were primarily concerned with poetry and theatre, although over time their roles were expanded to include mathematics, astronomy, history, and dance.Īs the Muse of epic poetry, Calliope was arguably the most prominent. The Muses were the nine nymphs who were believed to inspire the artists of the Greek world to greatness. ![]()

There were numerous differences between the Type R engine and the DOHC VTEC engine available in other Integra models (GS-R) but the increased power was primarily due to the higher compression, larger throttle body, high-lift camshafts and high-volume exhaust manifold. JDM cars and cars sold in other international markets came with an 11:1 compression ratio whereas the US Integra Type R has a compression ratio of 10.6:1. In the JDM Type R this engine produces 200 PS (197 hp 147 kW) at 8,000 rpm, whereas in the US models it produces 195 hp (198 PS 145 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 130 lb⋅ft (176 N⋅m) of torque at 5,700 rpm. ![]() The Integra Type R is equipped with a 1.8-liter DOHC VTEC in-line 4-cylinder (B18C) engine. In 1995, Honda introduced their first Integra Type R to the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM). These subtle changes along with its renowned handling kept the NSX-R competitive on the track against considerably higher-powered cars. Under the body, panels and air fences in the front, along with a small rear diffuser, produced balanced downforce. The NSX-R had a more aggressive rear spoiler and hood vent, featured a roof scoop, along with various refinements to reduce weight to 1,270 kg (2,800 lb). The NSX Type R's role was fulfilled by the NSX Type S Zero in 1997.Ī second iteration of the Type R, dubbed NSX-R, was released in 2002, again exclusively in Japan. The NSX Type R was track oriented and, to reduce weight, lacked sound deadening, audio, electric windows and air conditioning. Major changes include a more aggressive suspension and an extensive weight reduction to 1,230 kg (2,712 lb) from the normal NSX weight of 1,350 kg (2,976 lb). Honda produced a very limited number of NSX Type R models from 1992 to 1995 for Japan. ![]() ![]() So let’s say that we received both red and green lights. When we receive 2 or more wavelengths our brain cannot distinguish the two wavelengths or colors separately. Now let’s see what happens when two or more wavelengths hit on our eyes. ![]() A mix of several lights with different wavelengthsīefore we talked about single wavelengths hitting on our eyes. Because what we see as violet is there in the world as an electromagnetic ray with a wavelength of 380 nanometers. There is an actual wavelength in the visible spectrum that we perceive as a violet color. There is a clear-cut way of seeing violet color. So when our eyes receive 380 nanometers single wavelength our brain interprets it as a violet color. It is the shortest wavelength of the visible spectrum. Violet color is in the visible light range of the electromagnetic spectrum and it has a wavelength of around 380 nanometers. This is what happens when we see violet color. We can detect all the light wavelengths in the visible light spectrum without a problem when we receive only one wavelength of visible light at a time. These are made to accurately detect colors. Let’s call them red, green, and blue cone cells. ![]() Our eyes have 3 types of photoreceptors that can sense light as said before. What is the true color we see: purple or violet? Likewise, we see green in mid wavelengths and red in long wavelengths of light. The color we see when a short wavelength of visible light was received by our eye is blue. Our brains create impressions of colors when we receive different wavelengths. These wavelengths are short, medium, and long wavelengths of the visible light spectrum. They allow us to distinguish and see different wavelengths of light. There are three types of cone cells in our eye. When it comes to color, cones play a big role. This is because rods are more sensitive to light than our cones. Rods allow us to see in the dark or dim light while cones allow us to see in daylight. There are two types of photoreceptors in our eyes called rods and cones. At the back of our eyes, some photoreceptors allow us to see colors from the light that we receive to our eyes. We, humans, have evolved with our ability to see colors. As an example, we cannot see radio waves that have a very long wavelength and are outside of the visible light spectrum. That is how we can see the world beautifully.īut as our eyes do not have cells to detect electromagnetic rays outside of the visible light spectrum, our eyes cannot see them. After detecting these wavelengths our brain gives us an impression of color for different wavelengths in the visible light spectrum. ![]() ![]() The reason why we can only see between the 380 to 700 nanometers is that our eyes only have cells to detect these wavelengths. So the visible light part of the electromagnetic field has a wavelength between 380 to 700 nanometers. Different energies of electromagnetic rays have different wavelengths. Interestingly, like most other animals with vision, humans can see a part of this electromagnetic spectrum. Electromagnetic vector created by brgfx – *ignore the purple color in the visible light in the above electromagnetic spectrum image after the violet color. Light has both electric and magnetic fields to it, just like all the rays of the electromagnetic spectrum. If you have heard of something called the electromagnetic spectrum, light is a part of that. We receive light from the sun in the daytime and light from bulbs in the nighttime. What is light and what lights can we see? When mixing purple color paints always use magenta and blue color in a 2:1 ratio for the best saturation and intensity of color. You just need to combine red and blue color lights or paints in a 1:1 ratio. You will only see a violet color when your eyes receive a single wavelength of 380 nanometers of light.īut you can mix the purple color with both light and paint colors. It is a true color that we cannot make otherwise just like red, green, and blue or primary colors. You cannot mix violet color either with light or paint colors. Rogues also have a fairly easy 1.0 Epic on TLP servers so get it ASAP in Kunark era. Rogues scale well with buffs and during Planes of Power get the AA Shroud of Stealth, which allows their Sneak/Hide combo to make them invisible to almost every mob in the game (For example, it doesn’t work against Trakanon). The technology has been licensed to a company called Alter G, which appears to be the first to use the term “anti-gravity treadmill”. His plan was to use the decreased gravity simulator to help rehab patients learn how to stand, walk, and also run again. In 2005, Whalen’s son, Sean Whalen, an engineering student at the time, decided to bring his father’s experimental treadmill back to life. Whalen’s plan never came to fulfillment because of funding constraints. That helps maintain astronauts’ muscles and bones strong when they return. Whereas the ISS’s previous treadmill allowed Williams to exercise at approximately 60% of her Earth weight, Whalen’s treadmill allowed her to exercise at her normal Earth weight. Lowering the air pressure inside the chamber causes the astronaut to be pushed downward, simulating the effects of gravitation. An astronaut’s lower body and a treadmill are enclosed in an airtight chamber according to the design, which was patented in 1992. (However, in the anime, it is possible he did get genuinely affected by the deaths of the SPK members, as he started to berate Light for giving away the notebook just after they die, when immediately after that Near acknowledged himself that with the circumstances Light faced, anyone, would have given away the notebook.) For example, when the SPK members were killed around him in the anime, Near keeps a stern look, but he is visibly upset in the manga. Near shows much more emotion and displays far more facial expressions in the manga than he does in the anime. He is also shown to have a sense of humor, such as when he stated that Light was "popular with the ladies" while discussing with Rester the roles of Misa Amane and Kiyomi Takada in the Kira case. Near is very calm and stable, a trait that is described in Death Note 13: How to Read as potentially being "above that of L's." Although a seemingly straight-faced individual, Near will often smirk when getting something right and does so many times while trying to corner Light during their conversations. Near is rather codependent, as seen when he asks Rester to accompany him on his flight to Japan due to having never flown alone. As stated in Death Note 13: How to Read, "he is only able to display his true deductive powers when he has the support of his members." The book also states that Near is distant from people because he is sensitive.
